A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will take place on Wednesday, January 3, at 10:30am at St John Vianney followed by a luncheon and then INTERMENT at Resurrection Cemetery at 2pm CST.
Don was born in Omaha, Nebraska, to Henry and Vlasta Kramer on September 4, 1935. He entered St. James Orphanage at age 8 when his mother became ill and his father died. In eight grade he went to live with John and Katherine Stanzel, his foster parents, who he grew to love and respect very much.
Don graduated from Bellevue High School, where he was part of the class of 1954. He had numerous classmates with whom he loved to travel and spend time.
After Graduation, Don worked as an electrician for Union Pacific Railroad. Don was an Army Reservist and served active duty for two years. When he returned from active duty, he continued his profession at Union Pacific and Western Electric, where he retired in 1998.
Don had many hobbies that he shared with countless friends and family. Don enjoyed hunting, photography, computers, motorcycles, and vintage cars. Don was most proud of his 1938 Ford Coupe.
Don married Marie Schulte on September 25, 1965. They were married for 58 years.
He is survived by his Wife, Marie; Daughter, Jennifer Kramer; Son-in-Law, Daniel Smith; and Grandson, Gavin Smith. He was preceded in death by Daughter, Lori Smith; and Parents, Vlasta and Henry Kramer.
